This is the first one i have in the Peppa Pig series that actually comes with stickers. My daughter loves Peppa and stickers so she was delighted with this book and this is also the reason why I can't return the book. The stickers are basically the replicas of the printed characters in the book so they dont actually contribute to the plot; more an extra treat for kids and they are the same size as the characters in the book ( some like the dentist are sizeable). The pages in this book are not wax coated or laminated so the stickers are not removable once they are pasted!However, this is not the best book in the Peppa Pig series. I bought it because I wanted to introduce my daughter to the concept of the dentist before taking her there. But this story unfortunately lacked any detail on what the dentist actually does. There is only a sentence or 2 describing the dentist looking into Peppa's mouth with a mirror and everything is great. Nothing was described when it was George's turn and suddenly Mr dinosaur had dirty teeth, so he was jetted with water. Poor dude.Sadly the content was lacking and unrealistic. There were also no illustration showing the dentist looking into Peppa's mouth. My daughter ended up confused on how the little pigs went home with clean teeth in the end.
These books are taken from episodes of the TV show, which is a good thing because my girls love Peppa Pig! My daughter (3 years old) hates going to the dentist but this book helps! She doesn't fight the trip to the dentist but still freaks out a little during the actual cleaning. It's a fun, short story that is worth every penny! Like all things "Peppa Pig", my 16 month old granddaughter loves these books. She looks at the pictures and points to her favorite characters and enjoys having them read to her over and over. The book was shipped quickly and was priced right. It's difficult to find "Peppa Pig" items in USA stores because it seems that everything Peppa is made in England and you have to find them online.I like these books so much I bought 10 different books, all published by Scholastic. You can't beat the prices here on Amazon for these books.
This book was great for preparing my LO for her first trip to the dentist. The only odd part is that the dentist only looks in Peppa's teeth, he doesn't brush them (is this why British people have bad teeth??? kidding!), but no big deal, everytime we read the story to my child I added in a part about the dentist cleaning Peppa's teeth with a noisy toothbrush. My kid really seemed to enjoy this book, and I believe it helped demystify the dentist. I would highly recommend it for parents seeking to get their kid/s ready for the dentist. As far as Peppa book goes, this is one of the less annoying ones.
Both my kids love Peppa, the way these books are written are the same as the TV episodes so if you haven't watched the episodes on TV then the stories may seem incomplete or lacking in detail. We have watched all Peppa pig episodes at least 5 times! So these books are simply an extension of what the kids watch on TV. They enjoy having me read it to them during bed time and looking at the pictures and pointing out their favorite characters. The stickers in the 'Dentist Trip' were really nice. Great books!
We bought this book for my 2 year old in preparation of her first dentist appointment. She loves Peppa Pig along with the rest of the world so we thought this would be a great book to read to her, we were right. It isn't a big huge book so if you are looking for a long read this isn't it but I got the job done and we had her dentist sign the book when she was all done which she found pretty cool.
We love Peppa books here but this story line was a bummer. I was hoping this would make my kiddo brave for the dentist but it was a really weak story line. It kind of passed over what the dentist does and didn't show any pictures of the dentist working. I would have appreacieted that but it's still a cute book
My son is at level one on the autism spectrum (high-functioning end), and has always had such a hard time at the dentist. I mean, like we were peeling his fingernails off one-by-one screams. Absolute terror. He is six, and this was our sixth visit to the dentist. I got this book, along with the Usborne book about dentist visits. He chose this book as the one he wanted read on our ride to the office. Once there, as the hygienist was trying to show him the mirror (which he has refused to even touch before now) I got this book out and showed him the page where Dr. Elephant had the same mirror in his pocket. He actually grabbed the mirror and let them use it!!! I wish there were more pictures of the Dr. Elephant actually examining Peppa & George, but it worked. All I can say, is that it actually helped my son, and I will always love Peppa for that.
