This book describes WHAT Oliver Wight Class A is, not HOW to achieve it or improve your business planning and operational effectiveness. It is painfully obvious that this is simply an enticement to hire Oliver Wight consultants to come in and help with the HOW, at a healthy fee of course. As a stand alone book this is virtually useless. It's almost exclusively a list of terms and associated definitions. At only 144 pages, it should've been obvious to me that this book lacked any significant depth or utility.
Oliver Wight continues to maintain the checklist up to date and one of the best references for business management. The new version is characterized more as a definition of standards and less as a field guide for business assessment. I have mixed feelings about this direction but respect it.
An excelent view of what excellence is in bussiness (products/services) and of the way to define the journey to implement the best world way recognized practices to attain competitive and sustained performance levels.
